DWELLING ON LITTLE THINGS (and how to decide)

Growin' up I always wanted to write a book. See, I still haven't written any. But this is a one step closer to my goal.

I am Dominika, which is according to my opinion an ineffably beautiful name which I cherish. Bless my parents for choosin' it. Okay maybe I'm being too excited about something unimportant or too small. Well, I'm still learnin'. And over those 17 years I've learned a lot about things that are unimportant for the bigger world out there. I mean who cares? There are planets in the outer space watching us from above and not really givin' a damn which cereals you're about to get for breakfast. Still we care and we take it seriously. It's the little things that make the day different from the day that happened yesterday. And I know it sounds cliché but even a cliché had to be founded on a true basis. I get all of you out there wondering, standing above your cereal bowl in the morning decidin' whether to get those cereals with nuts or those with black currant or if to get cereals at all ( I wouldn't actually, eventually I would choose some good toast filled with some properly fatty cheese, I would choose cheddar If you ask me) and believe me the world doesn't care. Even your parents or your best friends don't care. That's something we all understand I think. But still it's our well-being that depends on which mug we're goin to make our good green tea in. We are human with cool ability to dwell on little things.

And really, It's okay. I know a girl who is a total expert in this way. She would spend hours and hours bestowing her dear time to think about which bread to buy though they are all quite the same. People have this strange way to do their things. What would it matter if you chose the first bread you saw in the shop? It would matter to you. It forms us really, it makes a difference. Don't be unconscious of things that you're choosing to let into your life. Whether it's food or people, whether they're huge or tiny. Your heart needs to be able to work with every decision. Actually there is no better way to practise your ,decisin' skills' then when deciding about little tiny unimportant things like which candle to light. I know it sounds kinda logical. But all these things are goin' to be helpful in your future. Deciding is one of the most important and useful skill you need to embrace. I think I'm really good at it now. Of course dwelling on little things was a thing even for me and it still is, but there are moments when you need to be fast or you're pushed into it and these decision aren't often really the good ones, believe me.

So try and spend some time honing this skill. It's gonna be worth it. It's goin' to be hard sometimes 'cause there is so many options and our senses or minds need to work with them all the time. But start with those itty-bitty things you encounter on daily-basis. Every time you face a decision do it fast but do it well. Believe your senses and instincts, they are usually being honest with you. Choosing is difficult, but everyone can focus on it and learn it. Don't give up if you're extraordinarily slow when choosing, 'cause I get you, It matters to us what we choose because we feel like it's something that's goin' to kill us if we do it wrong. Maybe not kill us, but it will definitely change the course of our day, month or a whole year. So still be conscious of what you choose.

I talked about the book for only one reason: I needed to decide. It was kind of a diffent type of choosing, this one was all about being strong to start. I always loved the idea of my own fantasy book. Well, I tried but it never worked well for me. And that's why I decided to start with short stories (see? the little things?) and hopefully those are goin' to be helpful not only for me as for a writer and a dreamer but even for you. So honestly thank you for readin' this, It means a lot to me and I will be super grateful for any feedback.

PS: I'm well aware of not being the best at grammar or english in general, but I'm tryin to rock it even so.

Yours Dominika
