so, I have been crazy into cinematography since I was pretty young. There were times in my life when I thought I was gonna study cinematography but then I realized that It would make no sense to me. The way I cherish a specific movie is full of deep emotions that I wouldn't want to explain or research. I tend to watch a movie and then live from it for weeks, sometimes with no real reason, the movie is just too grand. And so I decided to list those movies down, so maybe they can inspire you and perhaps make you feel the same way.
I've already written about my most beloved movie in the past. It is called The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty. I'm not going to go into details with this one, since I already have a post about it. But if you love watching a movie because of the atmosphere in which the whole thing is shot and designed, then this might already be for you. It is a movie about a guy who's not been very bold or adventurous during his life and the pic talks about how this changes. It is packed with wonderful dialogues, breathtaking landscapes and has also a very well calculated ending.
Next is Avatar. Avatar, in my eyes, is the best sci-fi ever shot. I'm sure most of you have seen it, or at least heard of it and then decided not to watch it since it has approximately 3 hours. I know. But for me, apart from the incredible effects, this movie mostly represents a wonderful power of nature and how we as humans have a terrible power to destroy it. The story explains an issue of Pandora, a planet where people came to mine and get rich, however the planet is a home to natives and those are very ready to protect their bond with nature. I also recommend it to those who, like me, like to have a proper music in a movie. I normally listen to the soundtrack on my phone, on days that I want my heart beating as crazy.

The best rom-com that I've ever seen is for one hundred percent Love Rosie. Im not very big on romantic movies, just because I tend to get very bored with the cheesiness of it. But Love Rosie is a British rom-com which is not cheesy at all, has a very well managed humor and wonderful storyline. It speaks about two people whose journeys have been missing each other for most of their life. It fully describes the problem of not being fully honest to the people you are fond of, or of course, love. Another very wonderfully made romantic movie is Meet Joe Black, which is a mysterious story mostly talking about love. It projects the story of Death, who incarnate into a dead guy, who then falls in love with a girl. I appreciate this film mostly because of how Brad Pitt performs in his role of death. This movie also holds my most favorite erotic scene ;)

The best ,,comedy'' that I've witnessed is the Green Book. It is not a comedy in the right sense of a word, but it does have elements of it. Green book was a boom these past months, won an Oscar and I fully understand why. It is a story of a ,,simple'' guy finding work with a genius afro american pianist. The history of them starts of course with them being very distinguish but over time they start to unravel their fears and their pasts to each other and they simply become friends. It also deeply touches the issue of racism and the exploitation of afro-americans in 1962. And I say exploitation because the story also shows how white people appreciate the pianist only as long as he plays for them and entertains them, but then not even letting him to use the same restroom.

In the same way I love the Green Book, I love the movie I am Sam, which isn't necessarily a comedy either. It is a story of a guy named Sam, who is the happiest guy under the sun. His mental development stopped around the age of seven. The problems come when he becomes a father, which not only is a difficult thing to do in any condition. But Sam has to do it alone, because the woman runs away right after the child is born, and he also has to do it with his seven year old mind. The story is wonderful because we see how Sam loves his daughter Lucy (named after the song Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Sam loves the Beatles.). But over time she becomes more bright and ready for the world then he is, and slowly she starts teaching him, but that way, things start falling apart. The story escalates with Lucy being taken from Sam, who then reaches to a rich egoistic lawyer Rita. Thanks to Sam she also realizes the beauty of love for her children and tries with all her powers to help Sam. I'm not telling you how this all ends, but I truly recommend this to you, even if just for the music of The Beatles :)
In this section I'll briefly mention the best fantasy movies. Since that is my most favorite genre, there is more of them. My utterly most favorite is definitely The Lord Of The Rings. We all know it, and most of us like it, or at least respect it. I feel like fantasy movies tend to fall into being very bad. A quality fantasy movie is so difficult to make, especially because all of the best stories have already been written. I've loved it since I was tiny, we used to watch it when I was like five years old :) The soundtrack is everything, the camera is everything, Aragorn and Legolas are everything and the story written of course by the best of the best, Tolkien, is just timeless. Another fantasy that I've loved since forever is Stardust. It is a fantasy movie that kinda combines also a comedy and a romantic movie, but I just simply love the idea of it so much. It speaks about Tristan who thinks he's in love with a girl. They see a star falling from a sky and he promises her that he'll bring her the fallen star even though for that he'd have to cross the wall, which is a thing that no one is allowed to do. He crosses to wall and slowly gets entangled in a magical fantasy world, where he not only finds out that the fallen star is a beautiful girl but also about his ancestry.

And last but not least, the section of cartoons and animated films. In this one I choose two. The first one is a movie I've watched also since I was a baby, alongside with the Lion King. This movie is called the Brother Bear. Which is probably so fine to me, because it all takes place in such a beautiful nature and has this magnificent atmosphere, and of course one of the best soundtracks. It is a story of a guy. At the beginning we find out that his brother gets killed by a bear, which isn't very true as we later find out. Our guy Kenai then decides to kill the bear, which he eventually does and then thanks to a magical power that reins in the mountains he transforms into a bear. The story then describes the bond he makes with a little baby bear, who then he finds out to be someone who didn't expect. The second animated movie I completely adore is Moana. It is pretty new, with wonderful music, incredibly done and with a very cute and educational plot.
So this is it, a fraction of my top movie list. If I were to mention all of them, we'd still be here tomorrow. But I hope I inspired you to check them out, especially If you're such an emotional movie geek as I am.
THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO SUPPORT ME.
